In recent years many of us have figured out that our data is just not safe without a tremendous amount of effort placed into protecting it. Even then it is not always easy to know just how to protect your information.

While we work hard to protect our passwords and keep our emails safe one of the things we often don’t think about is all of the information being collected about us online during our normal web browsing.

Just think of all of the things you search on your phone. Did you know you can protect your phone while you are surfing the web? For many of you, this might be your primary way of searching the internet daily.

So what can you do to protect your search history?

That is where browsers matter.

There are some excellent alternative browsers that you can easily transition into utilizing. We are going to review some of these options below and how to download them to your current computer.

1. Epic Browser

Epic browser is a two-in-one protector with a fully encrypted search engine and a built-in VPN. It is a private and secure browser that blocks everything from ads to trackers, crypto mining, fingerprinting, and ultrasound signaling. This browser is an excellent option and is newer in the world of browsers. The only thing to note is that you will not have access to all the plugins / chrome extensions you might be used to having.

2. DuckDuck Go

DuckDuck Go is an excellent option if you are wanting to have privacy during your browsing. You can utilize this both on your desktop as well as on your cell phone quite easily. DuckDuckgo does not provide a VPN so you will still want to consider adding a VPN. I recommend using ExpressVPN and this can be easily used on your cellular device as well.

3. Maxthon

Maxthon has been around for 20 years and integrates with your google browsers. So if you are committed to using your google chrome browser this will easily integrate with that. Maxthon uses blockchain technology while focusing on privacy. It is also compatible with Google Chrome’s extensions if that is an important feature to you to have.

4. Torch

Torch is another option you can utilize and it functions very similarly to Chrome. Torch allows you to have a pop-up blocker and use the browser in incognito mode. However, it does not provide a VPN so for your own privacy needs I would recommend looking into a VPN like ExpressVPN.

5. Opera GX

If you are a gamer you might be very excited to learn about OperaGX. Once you get through the setup of this browser you will have access to unique features such as CPU, RAM, and network limiters. This browser is available to connect to mobile and desktop for file-sharing all while protecting your privacy with a built-in ad blocker and a free VPN.

As the internet continues to grow both the negatives and the positives will follow and as we all become more reliant on technology the same will apply. It is important to think about protecting your information while you are browsing online. Cybersecurity is becoming a more common topic of conversation because of the rise of cybercriminals. Individuals have to do more on their own to now keep their information safe and not just rely on the standard built-in features we used to think kept our information safe.

Please Note: This article does not guarantee that any of these browsers will fully protect all of your information. Download and operate these browsers and share this information at your own risk. This article is simply an informative article sharing different options with you that provide more layers of protection than your standard web browsers.
